　　考研英语阅读标点符号的意义

　　1. 逗号 comma

　　用于分割并列成分。考研重点：两个逗号之间，或者一个逗号之后，如果是补充说明成分时，跳过不看。Eg. Some huge American industries, such as consumer electronics, had shrunk or vanished in the face of foreign competition.

　　2.句号 period/full stop

　　①用于陈述句，表示一个句子的结束，起分割切分句子作用。

　　②用于某些缩略词之后。比如Mr.、 Ms.、 etc.等等。如果句号作为简写符号使用，那么这个词语简写前后面的`符号应该照常写上，因为简写号并非句号，也不遵循句号的语法。比如Entreprise Co., Ltd或者I invited Tom, Jerry, etc..(注意两个点)。

　　③用作小数点

　　3. 问号

　　考研英语阅读文章中的问号一般都是设问的功能，只问不答，答案不言自明。Eg1. 考研难道没有价值吗?另外，如果开篇就是问句，那么则属于问题答案型文章，对问题的回答就是全文主旨。

　　4. 冒号(colon)：冒号前后是从抽象到具体的过程，后面进一步补充说明前面的内容。

　　英文中的省略号的作用和汉语是一样的。当省略号在句围并且有下文时，应该打四个点，最后一个为句号。如:And it flew further, and further, and further.... Jorge smiled and turned back.当省略号在句尾并作为语气延长的作用时，应使用修辞前的标点，如：Do you love me...?其余情况下使用三个点。如：The Martians...they just...just bombed our...our town, please send...more...

　　考研英语作文的复习指导

　　一、词汇拼写错误较为严重，词汇选用不当。

　　应对策略：平时阅读过程中注意单词拼写，关注单词使用语境，多积累高级词汇和句型。

　　在这句话中，有两处错误。一是decrese的拼写错误，二是decrease fault使用不贴切，让生活中犯错更少，应该是full of less faults。Life并不能够decrease faults，人才可以decrease faults。所以在选词上一定要符合英文的行文习惯。

　　二、语法掌握不好，句子的基本句型主谓结构掌握不清。

　　应对策略：句子完成后需要检查，看看是否符合语法规定。

　　Due to the fact that the mental state, we have to keep a balance between the physical and the mental.

　　这句话中，due to the fact that后面需要接一个句子，而上句中只是一个名词性短语，所以错误。另外，between...and...需要连接两个名词短语，上句中形容词physical和mental后缺少名词性成分。改正为Due to the fact that the mental state plays a significant role, we have to keep a balance between the physical well-being and the mental health.

　　三、格式不正确，结构不清晰，汉语式英文思维太过明显，翻译的过程中常常不合英文写作要求。

　　应对策略：多阅读范文，写作前列好提纲，注意使用衔接词。

　　格式不正确常常出现在应用文中，考生会忘记写落款。这是我们在写作过程中特别需要注意的，否则格式错误就要相应的扣分。另外，有些文章结构不清晰，或者没有分段，或者段落之间的内容混乱。开头段就开始论述问题，第二段提出建议，结尾段又给出原因，逻辑混乱不清，抓不住重点。所以我们在写文章时一定要先打腹稿，明确行文结构和大概内容，这样在写作过程中才不至于不知道说什么，甚至瞎写一通。

　　这句话中，作者将汉语翻译成英语，没有考虑英文的行文习惯，结果导致语法错误点频发，英文表意不明。改为As is pictured by the cartoon, one tap is running water slowly into the bowl while the other is running water so fast that there is little water left in the bowl.这样一改，逻辑很清晰，表意明朗多了。
